VectoBac WDG is a water-dispersible granule formulation of Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. israelensis (strain AM65-52) for mosquito larvae control. The product’s potency against Aedes aegypti larvae is 3,000 International Toxin Units (ITU) per milligram. It is intended for use in aqueous spray mixtures as well as direct application. The World Health Organization Pesticide Evaluation Scheme was completed by VectoBac WDG as the first bacterial larvicide.

VectoBac WG, which is made up of only Bti (strain AM65-52) and food-grade inert ingredients, has been approved by the Plant Protection Wing and sensitive habitats in a number of countries around the world. This versatile formulation allows for a variety of mosquito control application modes and uses. Because of their large vectorial capacity, container species such as Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus are a major source of concern for mosquito abatement agencies all over the world.

Furthermore, due to their flight times and other behaviors, adulticiding these species can be difficult. VectoBac WG’s various application methods make it an effective supplement to Integrated Vector Management (IVM) programs aimed at reducing these species that can transmit dengue, chikungunya, yellow fever, and other arboviruses.
